Today, I want to pick out just a small portion of the following scripture and talk about being “strengthened with all power”. God does not want His Children walking in weakness, He has given us power to overcome so that we may bring glory to Him!
Strengthened with ALL Power
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy” Colossians 1:11
If ever there was a prayer to try to cover all the bases, I think this one comes pretty close! I like to pray the prayers that are found in scripture because, they many times, say what I cannot say.
The apostles prayed this without ceasing for the believers to whom they were writing! I have taken to praying this for many people as well as for myself. And boy, have I needed it!
Being strengthened in a time of weakness is like refreshing water for your soul.
When I am weary, discouraged, or disappointed, my heart cries out for strength to carry on. And God is so very faithful to bring the strength as I have need of it.
Strengthened
1412 in the Greek Strong’s Concordance, the word ‘strengthened’ is translated to dunamoó, which means: I empower, fill with power, strengthen.
Its origin is from the greek word, dunamis, which similarly means to empower, to make strong.
Another definition for these words is “to make able”.
Sometimes, I am staring at a situation or a problem and I have NO clue how to overcome it. Ever been there? There are some things in life that I know I do not have the ability to take care of. But God can make me able. God can empower me.

When He strengthens me, suddenly I know the solution. When He strengthens me, I can see how to overcome. When He strengthens me, my fears dissipate and I can face whatever is ahead of me. When He strengthens me, my weariness falls away and I have a surge to try again.

Father, I pray that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to the might of Your glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy. I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen
Now wait on Him to do what you’ve just prayed!
