I recently got this cool little machine called the Zutter Bind-it-All, which allows you to design and make your own spiral-bound books. Oh my goodness, how I LOVE this nifty little thing!! My first practice project was to make this Prayer and Art Journal. I think I will use it for many homeschool projects as well!
I mod – podged scrapbook paper to some sturdy chipboard, then sealed it with polycrylic for durability.
Each section begins with a tabbed sheet of watercolor paper so I can draw, doodle and paint. It also has 10 sheets of lined journal paper that is double-sided for recording scripture, prayers and revelations.
The next time I make one, I plan on using cardstock to make printable tabs so that they will be more uniform and sturdy, but these were just made with leftover scraps and mod-podged.
After you’re all done making and organizing the sections, you simply use the machine to punch the holes, and attach the binding. I watched a YouTube video for better instructions than what it came with and it worked out great. The possibilities are endless, I know I’ll be using this a lot for home schooling, cookbooks, bible studies, art journals, writing journals and more!
All in all, I’m very pleased with my first project! Can’t wait to fill it up so I can make another! 🙂
